Endpoints
An endpoint is a protocol, a domain and an optional port. The protocol is Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or HTTP Secure (HTTPS). Monitors can only check verified endpoints, so nobody can point Status Raptor at a site they do not control.

Rules
- The domain must be a hostname such as
api.example.com. Internet Protocol (IP) addresses are rejected. - The port is optional, from 1 to 65535.
- A verified endpoint is locked. It can be deleted but not edited.
- Deleting an endpoint also deletes every monitor that uses it.
Verifying ownership
Press Verify now after doing one of these:
- Add a Domain Name System (DNS) TXT (text) record on the domain with the value
statusraptor-verification=<key>. - Serve a file at
<protocol>://<domain>/.well-known/statusraptor.txtwhose content contains the key.
The key is shown on the endpoint row. The file is fetched without following redirects and with a 10 second timeout. A TXT record holds free text in DNS, see RFC 1035.
A daily email at 09:00 reminds the endpoint owner of every endpoint that is still unverified.
