How do I publish an update for one component?

Post a status update as usual and choose the component in the Component field. The update then changes the status of that component only.

Before you start

• The service has at least one component. See how to add components.
• You are a member of the service with any role.

Steps

1. Open the service, select Updates, then Post Update.
2. Choose the Status.
3. Choose the component in Component. Leave it on All components for a service-wide update.
4. Write the Message and select Post Update.

Does the headline status change?

The headline shows the worst status across the service and its components, so a Critical Outage on one component is visible there.

How do I clear the status of a component?

Post a new update for the same component with the status Operational.
