How do I make a monitor public or private?

Tick or clear Public monitoring on the monitor form. Public monitors appear on the status page and email subscribers. Private monitors only email the team.

Steps

1. Open the monitor form by editing a monitor, or when adding one.
2. Tick Public monitoring to make it public, or clear it to make it private.
3. Save. The Visibility column on the Monitoring tab shows the result.

Questions

Why did my interval change?

A public monitor needs an interval of at least 5 minutes. A private one needs at least twice the timeout.

Does a private monitor change the status page?

No. A private monitor never affects the public page.
