How do I check that a page contains specific text?

Add a Text Match monitor, choose Response content under Evaluate by, and enter the text that must be present as the OK match value.

Before you start

  • You are an OPERATIONS or ADMIN member and the endpoint is verified.

Steps

  1. Open the service, select Monitoring, then Add Monitoring.
  2. Choose Text Match as Type and pick the Endpoint.
  3. Enter the Path, for example /pricing.
  4. Under Evaluate by, choose Response content.
  5. Set OK match value, for example Sign up. Optionally set Critical match value, for example Maintenance mode.
  6. Select Verify, then Add Monitor.

Questions

Is matching case-sensitive?

No. Matching is case-insensitive and looks for the text anywhere in the response body.

Which value wins if several match?

Critical first, then Degraded, then OK.

My page is built by JavaScript. Text Match does not see the content.

Text Match reads the raw response. Use a DOM Assertion monitor on the PRO plan.
